Begs the Question

 

"Beg the question" started life as a logic term meaning to arrive at a wrong conclusion through one of several errors in reasoning. But its popular uses raises the question: Can "beg the question" be used to mean "raise the question"? The answer, most experts agree, is that's probably not a good idea.
